1. Man I feel rotten today! There was a lot of assignments at work today and we had go thru some stupid Mickey Mouse rigmarole to get anything done. Also, who let these idiots out on the road? This dialog is repeated night after night in some form. It's featured on the double CD release "Live in New York City" from the same tour I saw them on. That album's show was also broadcast on a HBO special.

it's the use of pretty and/or sexy people to induce the public into an idiot stare and ignore the big important problems that affect their lives. The viewers get orgasmic from what they see.
Television, newspapers, Internet articles, magazines and other outlets often use pictures of beautiful people to promote ideas and to sell products. Now in articles concerning lovely stars on the Net people put on comments like cougar, MILF, I'd do her or I'd hit it etc. TV news, movies, music and other means of entertainment often use women who have sex appeal but no intelligence to manipulate your fantasies. Examples:
1. I was in a bar and the TV (set on MTV2) played a Spice Girls video. All the other guys gawked at it even though the Girls had no musicality whatsoever and the song was crap.
2. Bob Dole was in a Pepsi ad where he admired a certain talentless diva on his TV. Dole has an honorable enough track record but this was quite unbecoming of him, this ad had no class at all.
3. American Idol often features PYTs that can't sing to save their lives. And then there's Paula Abdul who does have some talent...

a nickname given by the press and the Internet to Amanda Knox, an American college student from Seattle studying in Italy who is on trial there on the charge of killing her British roommate in a violent kinky sex game with her Italian boyfriend and maybe other people around there. The Brit girl apparently was an unwilling participant in the stupid game and became the victim.
Because of the victim's nationality, the U.K. press as well as that of Italy have referred to Amanda Knox as "Foxy Knoxy". That appellation is now used by sites like that of CNN.

Oriental
a word that simply means "eastern". It refers to anything or anyone from the "East". "Oriental" was first applied mainly to Mesopotamia, Persia and maybe India because those lands were east of the Roman Empire. Later on ancient China was found to be more than a myth and so the previous "Orient" became known as the "Near" or "Middle" East and East Asia was now tagged as the "Orient" or the "Far East". Because of the geography the term "Oriental" came to be applied to the cultural aspects, the peoples and other things from the "Far East". Of course, "Western" is used to refer to anything or anyone from Europe, North America and such.
1. "Oriental" is a term generally applied to the "race"/ethnicities that inhabit the region from Myanmar (formerly Burma) all the way to Korea and Japan. It's a term referring to geography ("East") and is not an offensive or slur word. 2. There are groceries and restaurants that specialize in East Asian food. Many of them use the word "Oriental" on their signs, so apparently they don't see that word as a racial slam, do they?
3. Rugs made in Iran or India are still called "Oriental rugs". They are nice, huge, heavy and expensive.
4. There's been an Oriental presence and influence in America for a long time. There are Chinatowns, Japanese-American communities, Vietnamese neighborhoods and Korean neighborhoods on the West Coast states (especially California) and they have been in America for over 160 years. Like all ethnic groups here they have played an important role in making the U.S.A. the great nation that it is today.

George Takei
Japanese American actor who is best known as starship Enterprise helmsman Hikaru Sulu on the original Star Trek TV show. He also appeared as Admiral Sulu in some Star Trek movies (where he raised a daughter too) and he's also voiced in as Sulu in the animated TV series. He's also starred in a movie about the Green Berets with John Wayne, performed in Shakespeare plays, and many TV shows (as a guest), TV ads, and movies and more. As a child he and his kin were detained in a Japanese American detention center during World War II. He doesn't seem to be too sour over this act of xenophobia and stupidity.
A few years ago he "came out of the closet", yes Virginia he's gay. Who woulda guessed? He certainly doesn't "fit the stereotype" . I didn't know he's about 70 years of age either. He got hitched to his longtime partner last year before California enacted Proposition 8.

I met George Takei at a Trekkie convention at a Holiday Inn. He was very calm and polite, he'd gladly answer any question you had, he'd gladly sign anything you had, he shook my hand then he posed while giving the "Live Long And Prosper" hand sign and smiling while I took a snapshot. I would later see, talk to and meet other Star Trek actors and actresses in the years to come but of all them George Takei was the coolest! He's got none of that "superstar" ego problem. All you "fag basher"s can say what you will but he is a very intelligent and nice person. That afternoon at the convention was a pleasant one and meeting George Takei was a fun unforgettable experience. What else matters?
