the cathedral

Describes the broadly left leaning 'media academia complex' in which Western Liberal democracy is steeped. In broad terms, the juxtaposition of cultural Marxism and what is seen as democracy's intrinsic tyranny where takers get to out vote makers.

It is a term coined by dark enlightenment bloggers and gaining increasingly widespread usage.
Since the Cathedral has ascended to global supremacy, it no longer has need for Founding Fathers, who awkwardly recall its parochial ancestry, and impede its transnational public relations. Rather, it seeks perpetual re-invigoration through their denigration. The phenomenon of the ‘New Atheism’, with its transparent progressive affiliations, attests abundantly to this. Paleo-puritanism must be derided in order for neo-puritanism to flourish – the meme is dead, long live the meme!

the Cathedral

Coined by neoreactionary Curtis Yarvin to describe the perverse relationship between academic institutions and the mainstream media, particularly in the United States, to disrupt the social order of a liberal democracy by prompting increasingly left-leaning policies.
Jerry argues that the Cathedral is responsible for his province’s increasing support of mass immigration.

There are cathedrals everywhere for those with the eyes to see

To find meaning and beauty in the manmade or natural environment which is generally not regarded as beautiful or worthy of deep contemplation; to appreciate the beauty of mundane things and moments in life.

funiosity

The art of being peculiar, but in an amusing fashion.
"Wow, look at that dog running on three legs"

A toe rag was originally a foot wrapping used, since mediaeval times up until the mid-nineteenth century, to protect the foot from chafing by boots or shoes. As these were, quite literally, rags they weren’t usually washed, and so with use they became very smelly until they were thrown away. Because of the similarity in smell, toe rag also became the name applied to dried, salted cod or other things with a strong, unpleasant, fishy smell. It didn’t take that long before the name was applied to someone who was an obnoxious, unpleasant OIC.
1 “Socks! Those aren’t socks you smelly git, they’re toe rags!”
2 “What have you been cooking? Smells like toe rag!”
3 “I can smell ‘er fanny from ‘ere, proper toe rag.”
4 That Heale Malcolm is a right toe rag.

Eternity leave

When some resigns or retires from a job, they are on "eternity leave". This can also refer to someone who has passed away, especially someone who worked somewhere for a long time, retired/resigned, then passed away later.
Oh I'm sorry, you didn't know that Kelly is on eternity leave? She resigned and moved to Hawaii!

With regrets I would like to inform you that my boss is officially on eternity leave. I will never see or hear them again. Ever.
