Taconic High School

a sad airport looking high school with nothing but violence and homophobia, but it's better than Pittsfield High School.

all the students do is smoke weed in the bathroom, sell drugs on campus, gossip, and bash each others' faces in.

the one thing that's cool is the chicken patties, those slap
"hey, do you go to Taconic High School?"
"-yeah, why?"

"how many fights did you see today?"

"-about 13"

"during the entire day?"
"-no, all before second period even started."

Taconic Hills High School

A small school in bumblefuck nowhere where the only thing worse than the sports there are the bathrooms or the teachers they’re so desperate to hire.
Yo Jack, did you hear Taconic Hills High School won a football game?
No against who?
April Fools.

The Eastern Bluebird is NY's state bird
"I Love New York" is NY's state song

The Taconic Parkway is NY's official state embarrassment

The TSP: Paved country road? Highway? UFO landing site? Nobody seems to know or can make up their mind. Apparently green-lighted back when NY's politicians could literally commission anything. Now people navigate this reportedly paved conundrum consumed with questions worthy of a B-grade Horror Movie.

Why did they put rain grates practically in the middle of the road? Why do speed bump-like protrusions inexplicably cross large stretches of the roadway? Why does America's most heavily-taxed state have a major roadway that makes post-2003 Iraqi infrastructure look good? WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO??? Did it fall into the road when a chunk of the last 4 pavings randomly gave way? Why does a trackless road need so much ****ing maintenance? Such is the riddle that is the Taconic State Parkway
Guy #1: Hey, let's take the Taconic
Guy #2: Shit sonne, the last time I took the taconic, my car fell into a 20ft pothole and they had to pull it out with a crane.

Guy #1: Can you do 150mph on 9?
Guy #2: TRUUUUU!

Translation The Taconic Parkway sucks goats on a hot day, but dammit it's the fastest way upstate.

taconic parkway

Crazy no-trucks allowed road leading north out of NYC that pre-dates the interstate highway system in america.

Originally comissioned by FDR when he was governor of NY state so he could get from Manhattan to his house in the Adarondack (sp?) area in half the time.

Narrow as all hell, no sholder, cops pull you over onto the grass next to the trees.

Extremely fun to drive really, really fast at night.
Has evil drainage grates in the left hand lane that will knock your car out of alignment.

A quicker way to get out of NYC to New Hampshire/VT. if you want to avoid evil I-95.
I nearly wrapped my car around a tree going 90 on the Taconic. It was rad.

Camp Taconic

Camp Taconic is a sleepaway camp located in Hinsdale, Massachusetts. Almost everyone is very kind-hearted, while some people can be very jappy. It's a place that'll always make you laugh, and will never disappoint. If you're younger, don't go to the old waterski dock or teen snack. Don't be scared if you see a man yelling hasteens! If you like to be goofy and make lifelong memories, camp taconic is the place for you!
person 1 : "Where are you going to camp this summer?"
person 2 : "Oh, I'm going to camp taconic!"
Steve burke : "1, 2, 3, HASTEENS!!!"

The striver is an interesting phenomenon that is seen across college campuses. In essence, the striver is an over-achiever who comes from a working or middle class family. He may be an immigrant. He may have been a slacker in HS who was "born again" into an academic wunderkind. Or he may just be an over-achiever who is keeping at it.

The striver is willing to sacrifice his social life at the expense of Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude. The striver is the guy who stays at the library long after you are gone. The striver is the guy who takes 30 credits/semester and considers anything below an A/4.0 failure. The striver doesn't work on campus, he is too busy finding ways to pad his resume instead of working retail or workstudy. The striver lets his grades pay his education by applying to ten scholarships a year.

The striver is a future Soros/Fullbright/Rhodes/Gates/Marshall/etc. fellow. The striver lives to study. For the striver, their fun comes from the rewards they expect to receive in return for their diligence. Be it Law School, B-School, academia, or politics. The striver seeks to find the American Dream through academic success.
Anthony was a striver. He transfered from a TTT to an IVY and graduated in 2 years. He studied his ass off and went to Penn Law. He got a Biglaw offer. But lost it all because of an unmoderated mesasgeboard.

Successful strivers:
- Barack Obama
- Harold Koh

SkyPesos

Delta SkyMiles, also known as SkyPesos, is the frequent flyer program of Delta Airlines. It has a very poor value and hard to use.
- I'm trying to book an award flight to Paris, but I only have 70,000 SkyPesos
- Just forget about it, you don't have enough SkyPesos to fly anywhere.

Hate Draft

1. Select a player (real or fantasy) during a sports draft to spite or anger one or more of your opponents because they had intended to select him/her.

2. Select a player (real or fantasy) during a sport draft to put one or more of your opponents at a strategic disadvantage.
1. Billy hate drafted Chad OchoCinco because he knew Sam had wanted him since he is from Cincinnati. Billy already had plenty of players to fill that position but wanted to make sure Sam didn't get him.

2. Billy hate drafted Peyton Manning because he was the only good quarterback left and he knew Sam had been planning on drafting him.

Utility beer

Utility beer is the beer you keep around for the day-to-day moments when beer is a necessity to assist in pedestrian activities (golf, plumbing, yardwork, babysitting, staff meetings, Zoom calls). For the beer snob it is the beer you save for neighbors when they drop in at 3 p.m. on a Tuesday. It is differentiated from the actual high-end beer you save for special events, holidays, and special tastings.
Person 1: Dave, did you bring along those hazy craft IPA's so we could drink while cleaning Lyle's pool?
Person 2: Nope. I just have a bunch of utility beer that Steve dumped on me. Good enough for this. It is only 10:30 a.m.
