A person who uses alcohol to the fact that it causes issues such as a DUII, marital/relationship problems, difficulty on the job, or other negative consequences. They also may or may not be physically dependent/addicted to alcohol.

- “That club sucked ass last night. Hold on, I’mma be right back...”

- “Gurl, you see that? You seen that right now, right? She just got outta orientation!”
- “I mean, yeah, she a problem drinker. She needs Jesus.”

Lonely problem drinker

When someone drinks by themself because they are lonely and have problems. They think drinking will help them but are most likely wrong.
