Blake was in search of sisterhood. Not wanting to disregard her Caucasian or African-American heritage, she, along with 6
beautiful women (Founding Monarchs: Geeta Nadia Kapur, Natalie Nacole Barker, Peggy Virginia Long,
[Katherine Ellen Stanley, Brenda Imade Eribo, and Janelle Kalia Poe) founded MY Sorority, Theta Nu Xi Multicultural Sorority, INCORPORATED on April 11, 1997 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Theta Nu Xi is a product of scholarship, service, sisterhood, leadership, and multiculturalism operating on its mission statement as a foundation for cultural enrichment: To promote leadership multiculturalism through academic excellence, involvement in and service to the campus and community as well as being living examples of sisterhood across different races, cultures, religions, backgrounds, and lifestyles.
Theta Nu Xi has over 40 entities that span across the
United States. With this continuing growth, I believe MY Sorority to be the change that I want to see in this world.
