Someone who resembles the shape and personality of a thumb. A Knerb is also a troglodyte like being who has a very simple and round, thumb like façade. Tend to be quiet and hermit-like.

Kerbal Space Program 

Kerbal Space Program is an indie space-sandbox game known for it's steep learning curve and accurate physics simulation. Many players were originally turned off by the "rocket science" aspect of the game. A phrase popularized by the game is "Add moar boosters" and it has been mentioned on xkcd.

Describes a launch vehicle that is built by strapping together existing components, such as booster rockets or additional stages. It is a reference to the Kerbal Space Program, "create and manage your own space program", which allows players to build custom rockets in exactly that way.
