iPad Baby

A pejorative term used to refer to children who wasted their critical developmental years scrolling mindlessly on their parent's iPad or iPhone. iPad Babies are a direct result of neglectful and/or underqualified parents who behave like screen time is a suitable alternative for parenting.

Such children are almost always hyperactive, undisciplined, disrespectful, entitled, rude, volatile, antisocial, emotionally underdeveloped, intellectually stunted, or some combination thereof. The reward pathways in their brain are short-circuited from a young age, leading to an inability to delay gratification or retain motivation. They are also often completely insufferable and quite egocentric, a trait fostered by their overly permissive parents.

iPad Babies have existed for over a decade, but the problem has rapidly worsened in recent years due to the near-collapse of the US educational system and the deterioration of family dynamics across the country caused by COVID-19. Generation Alpha has been hit the hardest, with many young kids lagging socially and academically behind their peers due to inadequate, destructive parenting styles.
P1: I saw my younger cousin at a family reunion the other day. I asked him how school was and he didn't even look up from his phone. Kid wouldn't shut up about TikTok trends and eventually started screeching outta fucking nowhere. When his mom told him to stop, he threw a temper tantrum and started melting down.

P2: What the fuck? What, is he 5?

P1: Nope. He turns 12 in October.

P2: Jesus Christ.

P1: Yeah, it's fucked. The kid's an iPad Baby, through and through. Poor kid. He's insufferable, but it's not his fault he had shitty parents.

Give the baby the iPad

When horny parents give their iPad to their little baby (who doesn't otherwise get it), so as to distract the baby enough to engage in copious amounts of unnatural sex. This is commonly observed in the West, and in several wealthy Indian households. In middleclass households, the iPad may be substituted with wooden or plastic toys, although they are not as effective as distraction devices.
Father: "Give the baby the iPad". Mother: "Baby, here's the iPad". Baby's happy. Mother slides away to have sex with the father.

I-pad baby

A way of describing someone whose early childhood development was dominated by screen time, often with a negative connotation to indicate the person has had their real world experience limited by too much time living in the technosphere when they should have been developing social skills and street smarts and playing outside. Some define Generation Alpha as beginning in 2010 with the advent of the i-pad, since so many of this generation grew up with the i-pad as their babysitter.
Person1: "I'm so frustrated, Elon Jr. is just on their screen all the time and never even tries to engage with the world or other people, they are such an i-pad baby".
Person2: "Yeah, its a real shame, but its not their fault, their parents should have made sure they got meaningful development time as a kid instead of just throwing a screen in front of them all the time..."

girl grip

The ability girls and women have developed to hold several items at once in one hand. The skill has been developed due to the lack of pockets in women's clothing.
I thought she'd need multiple trips to carry her phone, keys, wallet, and Starbucks to her car since she needed the other hand to open the door, but she used her impressive girl grip to carry everything in one hand.

The word 'flag' as pronounced by people with thick Belfast accents. The term is a perfect encapsulation of the disproportionate and overblown reaction to the removal of the Union Jack (as in 'de fleg') from above City Hall in Belfast. Where previously it had flown for 365 days per year, it is now flown on 17 designated days of the year - in line with many other British cities.

The event caused a portion of the Protestant community ('fleggers') to make international pricks of themselves as they proceeded to wreck the fucking place, claiming it was another erosion of a 'British' identity they perceive to have been under attack since the horrifying spectre of equality reared its head in Northern Ireland.

The word 'fleg' - and indeed 'fleggers' - fittingly describes a section of humanity unconcerned with knowledge, reality or the vagaries of the English language. Like America's tea-baggers they are ruled by instinct, fear and paranoia with a side dish of rampant bigotry and startling ignorance of the world around them.
"Wat de fuck like! The taigs got de fleg took down! Let's wreck de fuckin place! No surrender!"

"De fleg has been took down! Before ye know it there'll be a united Ireland! Attack Short Strand! God Save The Queen!"
