fragmentator

N. A title used to describe a person whose knowledge of a subject is scant, minimal, or nonexistent, but who boldly proclaims (lack of knowledge to the contrary) to be an expert on said subject.
Derived from "fragmented" and "commentator."
When the techs at Lawrence Livermore started talking to Fred about their work in quantum physics, Fred's inane babble about "subatomictoasticles" revealed to them that he was, in fact, a fragmentator on the subject.

Steven: "my mind is a bit of a fragmentation bomb at the moment."

memory recollection fragmentation

Only being able to remember particular fragments of memories or ideas from an earlier time where the context of such memories are no longer recoverable.
I had a really good idea last night, but can't seem to remember what it is. It must be a bad case of memory recollection fragmentation.

Old age produces memory recollection fragmentation. Most of our patients have trouble integrating life's memories into a coherent timeline.

Sample Fragmentation (Kill-Switch)

A manipulative statistical practice where a researcher splits a dataset into very small subgroups (or isolates a single case) until no comparison achieves statistical significance, then reports that “no effect was found.” The fragmentation acts as a kill‑switch: by reducing sample size to near zero, any real effect becomes undetectable. This tactic is often hidden behind legitimate concerns about confounding, but when applied selectively, it ensures that any inconvenient finding can be made to disappear. It’s a favorite of litigation consultants and industry apologists.
Sample Fragmentation (Kill-Switch) Example: “He divided the adverse event data by hospital, shift, and day of week – sample fragmentation, ensuring no group was large enough to show a problem.”

murderhobo

In a tabletop game, a murderhobo is a player who murders NPCs indiscriminately. This is normally derogatory, referring to a player who totally ignores quests, dialog, backstory, trade, world building etc.

The term is most common with Dungeons and Dragons, but it can be applied to most RPGs where the player is allowed to kill most quest-giving NPCs and NPC traders. E.g. Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Divinity original sin.
DM: The sad little orphan girl tugs at Steve's trenchcoat to get his attention, and ask for help saving her pet dog from...
Steve: I'd like to roll a strength check against strangling the orphan.
Dave: I call dibs on the dog.
DM: You murderhobos disgust me.

In sales terms, a whale is a prospect that is significantly larger than an organization’s average customer.

Whales are large and extremely difficult to close. Due to their immense size, they are highly sought-after.

A whale is typically identified at first by a whale hunter on the sales team, but often requires cross-discipline participation in order to close; this includes assistance from operations, engineering, creative, client success, and business development teams.
"Shit...the sales director chewed me out on the sales call this morning. He's totally pissed that I have nothing in my pipeline. I've been focused on this one whale for so long that I haven't had time to prospect for normal-sized deals."

city chicken

A food native to Pittsburgh/Western Pennsylvania in which cubes of pork and/or veal are put on a short, wooden skewer, breaded, then baked and/or fried.

I've heard that city chicken originated during the Great Depression, when folks didn't have enough money to buy full cuts of meat, so they assembled meat scraps on a wooden skewer, creating a make-shift drumstick. Hence the name.
