A great and wildly successful band in the '70s, they have been obscured by other progressive acts like Pink Floyd by today's youth. All three members of the band (Keith Emerson on keyboards, Greg Lake on vocals and bass, and Carl Palmer on drums) were virtuosos at their respective instruments. ELP is a british progressive rock group formed in 1970 by Keith Emerson, Greg Lake and Carl Palmer. To this day they have sold over 30 million albums. Their biggest success was the album Brain Salad Surgery in 1973. A very different sound when compared to other prog. rock bands from their time. Also known for their outstanding and crazy live shows.

Emersyn
A strong and confident girl, she has an opinion and know what she wants. She has many friends and are kind to them and the people she loves, she doesn’t care if someone doesn’t like her because she’ll brush it off and forget about it. She’s proud of all her sucsess. She’s a positive girl and and when she’s down she’ll always look at the positive side, I always go to Emersyn when I’m down because she always has something that makes me smile.

West Midlands slang word for rockers, bikers, greasers etc. In the late 1980s it was used by the UK music press to refer to a specific scene centered around the bands Pop Will Eat Itself and Crazyhead. The term never found favour with readers of 'the inkies' (Sounds, Melody Maker and the still extant NME) and was soon dropped. Now often used in predominantly working-class areas of the midlands and the north to mean someone who listens to rock-derived music and/or dresses in a manner that suggests they affiliate themselves with rock music of some kind.
