A ubiquitous form of fallacious argument, either verbal, textual, or in the form of an image
meme, in which one presents the worst possible example of a category they don't like (can anything from political groups to music), and the best possible example of a category they do like, and uses this to suggest a qualitative difference between the
two categories.
From the term "cherry picking", meaning to
pick out a
single example of an instance that fits your argument, while ignoring the many more that don't.
Music back then: (Lyrics to Bohemian Rhapsody)
Music
today: (Lyrics to Run the
World)
"There was garbage music back then, and there's good music
today. That's just double cherries."
