message board decoder ring

A mythical tool used to decipher message board posts made by a person who is speaking to one individual person about something only the two of them understand....both of whom, ironically, are usually tools themselves. The goal of the tools is to hope people wonder what they are talking about. The tools can only be thwarted by a decoder ring tool.
Oh bless my stars, another incoherent post by the ancient one....I MUST know what it means! Now....where did I leave that message board decoder ring....

Magic Decoder Ring

Google, or another search engine, used in an online situation to keep from looking stupid because you don't know what your buddy is talking about.
Walter was telling me about how to use terminal, and asking me about my LAN. I didn't have a clue what he was talking about, so I used my magic decoder ring and got it all figured out.

Regular Degular

Plain. Not tampered with or upgraded. Basic.
May I have an order of regular degular buttermilk pancakes? Without all the added jazz? Hold the blueberry smiley face, strawberry glaze, chocolate chips and whipped cream.
