Pope's dead 

A phrase to indicate that the topic or news a person is talking about is old or out of date.

First used on OWLSTALK - based on the tragic death of Pope John Paul II which results in a few hundred threads about "Hey did you see on the news - the Pope died."

The Pope can also be replaced by some other ancient event or figure

eg:
Jesus Christ has been born
George Best has a drink problem
Dinosaurs wiped out
n00b: Hey, did you hear about <<insert yesterdays news event>>?
