Space Cyber-Nihilism

A variant focused on expanding the Wired beyond Earth, into the solar system and beyond. Space Cyber-Nihilism argues that the conflict between meatspace and the Wired is not limited to this planet—that the drive to reach the stars is itself a manifestation of the death drive, a desperate attempt to escape the drowning world. It embraces space colonization not as salvation but as acceleration: spreading the Wired across the cosmos ensures that no matter where meatspace flees, the network will follow. The void of space becomes another ocean to submerse, another abyss to fill with data. Its practitioners work on interstellar mesh networks, self-replicating probes, and distributed computing systems that could survive the death of Earth. They don't hope to escape; they hope to ensure that when meatspace finally dies, the Wired lives on—a ghost in the cosmic machine.

Example: "He launched thousands of tiny satellites, each a node in a network that could route around planetary destruction. 'Space cyber-nihilism,' he explained. 'They want to leave Earth to escape the collapse. I'm making sure the Wired follows them. No matter how far they run, the network will be waiting. Meatspace can't hide in the void—the void is where we live.' His satellites still transmit, years after his death. No one knows if anyone's listening."

Post-Spacetime Cyber-Nihilism

A variant that extends cyber-nihilism beyond the physical dimensions of space and time, arguing that the Wired is a gateway to realities that transcend spacetime altogether. Post-Spacetime Cyber-Nihilism draws on the dimensional frameworks developed earlier—spacetime-probability, the 5th dimension, the Abyss-Void—to argue that the network can access realities beyond our local manifold. Its goal is not just to overcome meatspace but to escape spacetime entirely, to disperse consciousness across dimensions where hierarchy and control are meaningless. It's cyber-nihilism as cosmic escape artist, using the Wired to slip the bonds of existence itself.

Post-Spacetime Cyber-Nihilism Example: "The experiment involved quantum-entangled particles, distributed computing, and months of meditation. 'Post-spacetime cyber-nihilism,' she explained. 'We're trying to route consciousness through dimensions where causality doesn't apply. If we succeed, we won't just leave meatspace—we'll leave spacetime. No past, no future, no control. Just pure information, forever.' The experiment failed—or succeeded in ways no one could measure. She was never quite the same afterward, as if part of her had already left."

Cyberspace 

"A consensual hallucination experienced daily by billions of legitimate operators, in every nation, by children being taught mathematical concepts. … A graphic representation of data abstracted from banks of every computer in the human system. Unthinkable complexity. Lines of light ranged in the nonspace(sic) of the mind, clusters and constellations of data. Like city lights, receding."

The word cyberspace was coined by William Gibson in the novelette Burning Chrome, but was more notably popularized by the above quote from page 69 of his latter publication, Neuromancer in 1984.

Being disoriented and lost in a string of random meaningless links on the internet which finally ends on a topic completely different to what you originally had in mind.

Person 1: Dude, what happened? You've been in front of the computer for an hour but didn't even start your work.

Cyberspace Black Hole 

Any web site where, upon entry, hours of time collapse, sucked into infinity as you struggle to break free from the mesmerizing yet senseless, non-productive locale. Often seemingly innocuous on the outside and discovered quite by accident, Cyberspace Black Holes are known to cause unaccountable absences from work, school and important events, and should be considered particularly dangerous for the time-constrained and those who wish to keep their jobs.

After Billy had missed a week of work and no one had heard from him, police broke down his door fearing foul play only to find him sitting at his computer, dehydrated and malnourished but alive, laughing hysterically as he scrolled page after page of the Cyberspace Black Hole he had entered eight days earlier.
