the slang or alternative way to say brake calipers. originating from someone mistaking brake calipers for rear brake pads which are called brake shoes

you: yo what do you think about puttin new brake shoes on my truck
me: what do you mean?
you: you know like some brembo calipers?
me: oh. yeah thatd be sweet man.
