Betty Nguyen is currently a news anchor for CNN/U.S. Based in the network's world headquarters in Atlanta, Nguyen joined the network in April 2004.

Betty Nguyen was born in Saigon, Vietnam. She is of Vietnamese descent. Her family emigrated to the United States after the events of April 30, 1975.

Nguyen began her career as a morning anchor and reporter at KWTX in Waco, Texas. During her tenure with the CBS affiliate, she received an Associated Press Award for spot news coverage.

Nguyen graduated magna cum laude from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism.

She is a member of the Asian American Journalists Association.
