Trump, known for claiming to be wealthier than independent financial evaluations showed, whose only off-limit joke at his comedy central roast in 2011 was any implication that he was less rich than he claimed, lost the support of his accounting firm Mazars in 2022 who declared it could no longer vouch for the financial statements it had compiled for Trump over the past decade, prompting a lot of news and social media speculation that he was on the verge of bankruptcy and to reflect on the irony of this as his personal kryptonite.
