A trans person who has recently cracked and is at the start start their journey. Having just emerged from the egg shell, they are extra sensitive and should be handled with care until their skin thickens. The "baby trans" period can last anywhere from 8 months to 2 years, depending on how quickly they take their first wobbly steps into todderdom.

Recently was careful not to scar the baby trans by comparing her looks with those of a cis boy.

Ricky was a baby trans, who had just woken up to his inner muscle daddy but still presented like a doughy teenager.

Baby trans 

To be trans but not really out of the closest yet or maybe even still questioning your gender or if you even have trans qualities such as dysphoria, etc. This kinda trans probably surfs reddit frequenting egg_irl and traa, and many have just recently moved on from their femboy phase.

Cis person 1: Erica is a baby trans, she's told me her proper pronouns and that she wants to be called Erica but she's not out to anyone else yet. Shhh don't tell anyone we don't wanna out her

Cis person 2: what do you mean out her, she wants she/her pronouns ofc we'll call her that in front of everyone

1. A trans person whose inexperience in presenting as their preferred gender can be detected in their fashion sense, behavior, or general knowledge in being that gender. Usually it's an endearing term, but it can also be used derogatorily.

2. A trans person who has recently figured out they're transgender.

3. A psychological stage in a trans person's life where they go from conforming to their assigned gender at birth, to having to deal with the issues that come with being out and experiencing the world as a transgender person.

baby trans syndrome 

that awkward phase of a trans person's life (most commonly seen in the teenaged FTM community, usually before hormone therapy) where they think everything revolves around them and the fact that they are trans.

In this stage, they will usually complain far too much about their appearance, family and what the therapist told them to do to cope with their dysphoria.

They may also assume that every weird look they got, every time they get refused something and basically every single bad thing that happens is because they're trans. They generally underestimate how accepted they actually are in society and feel like they'll never be able to prove their gender.

They can be very draining for those around them, thanks to their negativity. They may also choose to invalidate their friends' care, simply to fit their view that the world is against them.

Usually people with baby trans syndrome grow out of it and flourish into any other self-assured trans person once they realise it's cringe to complain about every single person who misgenders them.

"Hey, my friend came out as trans a couple months ago and he keeps going on about how much he wants a dick so he can fuck me"
"Oh don't worry it's just the baby trans syndrome! Also um... what?"
