americasplain

The attitude of American people to explain different cultures to the same people that culture belongs to, and the assumption that they are right despite never having actually set foot on those people’s countries (or never having google it).
Americasplain is the dumb answer you receive in a polite conversation about your culture. You'l never know when it comes, but it's on its way.

Amerisplain

A provincial attitude held by some American's that the United States is the only country in the world that has any merit. It's expressed as a condescending attitude to foreigners as being weird or their culture is in someone a mistake. It's the opposite of being humble or respectful.
American: "I wouldn't expect a European or a Latin American to understand football" .

European: Thanks for the Amerisplain, we've been playing football for over a hundred years and we use our feet to kick the ball, that's why it's called football.

"Dude you eat uncooked fish..you're weird"!!

Weird? Interesting Amerisplain, in my culture we've been eating sushi for longer than you're country has existed.

Amerisplain

verb

(of a United States Citizen) explaining (something about the United States, usually political) to someone, typically apologizing to a minority or immigrant, in a manner regarded as condescending, patronizing or a way to alleviate white guilt. Usually related to politics
This afternoon I cried to our house cleaner as she folded my laundry. I tried, but couldn't explain to her how the election results impacted to her. I felt so sad and ashamed of America.

Seriously, did you just try to Amerisplain the election results to your house cleaner? Not cool.

Non-Americansplaining

Non-Americansplaining is when a

non-American (typically a European with a superiority complex), tries to tell Americans about their country, often in a condescending or patronizing manner, especially regarding issues that they face.
British person: America is so horrible! You Americans really have no idea how bad it is! At least our schools don’t get shot up and we don’t get put into debt for breaking a bone!!

American: We don’t need you- an outsider to explain to us how bad we got it. We have actual lived experiences here and are well aware of the problems we face. Americans are not stupid, but many of us are victims of the system. You aren’t even from the US, what makes you think you know more than us? You’re just Non-Americansplaining.

(There could probably be a better word than “Non-Americansplaining” but you get the point)
