A website with little to no content, or completely nonsensical content intended to generate click-through traffic for its ads. Often the site purports to offer useful information, such as how to succeed in currency trading, home buying, home improvement, etc.

Think eHow.com, but far far less useful.
"Know onions are multifold nation who are fully dependent on their journal income for making their expenses." -- this is from an ad trap purporting to offer 'Business & Finance' advice 'For a Better of Your Business and Finance'.

An aggressive, even malicious form of Adbait. Adtrap apps not only flood the user with ads but also make it nearly impossible to exit or uninstall without jumping through hoops. They may hide the close button, spawn new ads immediately after closing one, or install additional adware. Some adtrap apps mimic system warnings or claim the device is infected, tricking users into clicking more ads. The line between adtrap and malware blurs; the primary purpose is no longer a functional app but a sticky ad delivery system that actively fights user attempts to leave.
Example: “I tried to close the ad, but it opened a second ad, then a third, then my browser—total adtrap. Had to restart the phone to escape.”

celebrity adtrap

An advertisement that promises to tell you juicy details about celebrities, movies or tv shows only to severely buffer the download and offer unwanted advertisements or information you didn’t expect. advertisements, buffer, it’s a trap, celebrity, celebrities, internet, web ad, trap, entertainment, website
I hate the celebrity adtrap at the bottom of the page on this Hollywood site. I always get stuck in it and it buffers the heck out of my phone.
