Abosching

Abosching is when a person is speaking and then breaks into song, particularly in musicals. The term is also used to refer to the point at which the speaking stops and the singing starts.

In West Side Story, the character Riff is talking to the rest of the Jets, when suddenly he Abosches into the song "cool".

In Wicked, Elphaba does some good Abosching.

Abo's handbag

An Abo's handbag refers to the plastic bag that is used to contain the cheap wine (goon) sold in cardboard boxes. The bag has a tap attached that can be pressed to release the wine.

Abo is slang for an Aborigine....the native race of Australia. Aborigines are considered alcoholics by many.
