Las Vegas Syndrome

Illness brought on by too little sleep, too little water, too much heat, and often too much alcohol. This illness occurs all too often in Las Vegas with so much to do and generally too little time to do everything one wants to do. The people affected with Las Vegas Syndrome often end up incoherent, uncounsious, and even dead.
A man goes on a 4 night 5 day vacation to Las Vegas. The temperature for 10 days has been over 100 degrees. He arrives after a 3 hours plane ride and immediately hits the strip, wandering from one casino to the next getting free drinks by gambling, stopping for drinks between casinos. Next thing he knows, the sun is coming up the next day. He eats breakfast until 8am and has plans to see a show at noon. He decides to take a quick nap and be out the door by 11. The same thing happens the next day, and the day after, only on day 4 at 3pm he ends up unconscious on the gound outside a casino. He has forgotten to drink water and the temperature had him sweating like a stuck pig. He gets picked up by the paramedics and spends his last night in Vegas in the hospital being rehydrated by IV. This is Las Vegas Syndrome, only for some it takes their life.

Las Vegas Syndrome

This is very common in Vegas, hence the name. This applies to cities pretty much. Here are the symptoms: 1. Most of the major or important attractions, clubs, restaurants and stores being placed in or near a casino and/or in one area, thus making the rest of the city very boring, 2. Culture, art and local scenes are irrelevant, 3. The city only paying attention to what will attract tourists and not giving a crap about what locals will do, and 4. Only one or two parts of the city will be interesting, with the rest being very dull, boring, and bland.

If you're living in a developing city and it has any of these symptoms, GET THE HELL OUT ASAP!!!!!
Las Vegas Syndrome example 1: Person 1: I want to try a new restaurant. Person 2: Cool, lets go to one of the casinos here.

Example 2: Person 1: I'm new to this town, so here are some things I want to know: Do you know a cool theater where I can find a local rock band? Or some street art? What about the local poetry bars?
Person 2: You've got to be kidding! (then he starts laughing his ass off)

Example 3: Person 1: The clubs and restaurants here are so expensive.
Person 2: They're for tourists, DUH!
Person 1: What's for the locals then?
Person 2: The best restaurants in town I can afford are my grandma's house and Mickey D's.

Example 4: Person 1: Just about all the shit to do here is over in that part of town. There isn't shit to do elsewhere.
Person 2: I know, for real.

Person 1: This city straight up sucks.

Johnny Vegas Syndrome

A crippling business disorder that strikes leaders of any sex, race, ethnicity, or size usually following a great success or triumph or sale, etc. Characterized by an exaggerated swagger, metaphorical swinging of chains, and Rat Pack screen savers. Symptoms include unbearably inflated sense of self and an undignified belief that you are bigger than yourself and the community that surrounds you.
He had all the symptoms of Johnny Vegas Syndrome: he just sold a business for a huge profit and was strutting about the office thinking about the next big thing - not realizing he was making people angry with his act of "I'm the God of business".

New Vegas Syndrome

When one games community has an overwhelming sense of superiority over the other games in the series/other versions of the game, and will take any chance to slander the other games.

Most commonly seen with Fallout: New Vegas fans and Minecraft Java Edition players.
"Fallout 3 is the worst game in the series, New Vegas shits on it in every way" (guy with new vegas syndrome)
"this is a Skyrim video" (other guy who likes another fallout game more)

Post-Vegas Depression syndrome

The condition that is felt upon returning from a Las Vegas vacation back to real life. Usually lasts 4-5 days. Symptoms include staying in bed all day, heavy drinking by yourself, and attempts to book future visits in the near future. Productivity at work goes down the toilet...
Man that Vegas trip was great, but I think I'm suffering from Post-Vegas Depression syndrome.

Smoking Vegan Syndrome

SVS is a condition characterized by smug and well-timed references to one's veganism, citing statistically insignificant studies showing that vegan diets are healthier for your body and the environment--often while taking a drag from a cigarette, thereby negating everything they supposedly stand for and showcasing their vulnerability to worthless trends. Those suffering from SVS will often remind you of how dangerous pesticides and mysterious chemicals are, especially those that haven't been studied, and are likely to direct you to various wikipedia articles detailing conspiracy theories that are surely to blame for their recent development of a cough. SVS victims usually appear to be completely oblivious to the fact that every chemical in cigarettes has been extensively studied, and is, without any shadow of a doubt, deadly, dangerous, and the cause of their recent cough, suppressed immune system, and possibly their brush with derangement.

If you suspect that you or a friend may be suffering from SVS, direct them to your local clinic for a blood test and a pamphlet.
Tom: "Are you eating a chicken salad? Ha, yeah, that's how I used to eat before I took a few nutrition classes and did some research online. Chicken salads are officially endorsed by Monsanto, you know." *drags on cigarette*

Mary: "ugh... Tom.. you're looking kind of hipster lately... have you been to the doctor for a Smoking Vegan Syndrome test?"

Tom: *wheezes* "I try to stay away from doctors. Ever noticed how hard they try to vaccinate you?!"

Mary: *sigh..*

murderhobo

In a tabletop game, a murderhobo is a player who murders NPCs indiscriminately. This is normally derogatory, referring to a player who totally ignores quests, dialog, backstory, trade, world building etc.

The term is most common with Dungeons and Dragons, but it can be applied to most RPGs where the player is allowed to kill most quest-giving NPCs and NPC traders. E.g. Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Divinity original sin.

In sales terms, a whale is a prospect that is significantly larger than an organization’s average customer.

Whales are large and extremely difficult to close. Due to their immense size, they are highly sought-after.

"Shit...the sales director chewed me out on the sales call this morning. He's totally pissed that I have nothing in my pipeline. I've been focused on this one whale for so long that I haven't had time to prospect for normal-sized deals."
