The intentional ambiguity of standards that allows institutions and organizations to favor people and voices that align with their ideological views while suppressing those that do not, thus making it difficult or impossible to challenge their decisions.
Social media companies and higher education systems are increasingly leveraging vagueification relating to their community standards and admissions criteria in order to avoid accountability for their decisions.
