A phrase used by Ipswich Town fans to show their support for the “towen”. It is essentially “up the town”: the town in question being Ipswich Town, but in a Suffolk accent. Just saying uppa towen in Ipswich will gain you immediate respect from the locals, as many people in Suffolk are die-hard Ipswich Town fans.

Northern Irish and Irish slang for, "up the ra". (The 'ra' being the IRA, a nationalist paramilitary group based in Northern Ireland. This is used as an ironic joke amongst Northern Ireland residents. As the IRA committed many acts of violence during the 'troubles' in Northern Ireland, starting in the late 1960's and ending around 2000.
