A new film genre combining a reality backdrop with a fictional storyline.

The Toronto film festival was a perfect backdrop for "The Pitch", a good example of an early Truvie.

Derived from "true", which is commonly used to affirm a fact or show content towards a statement, and "groovy", which has been around since before Bono said anything important.
