The Yarus Method

A rule for negotiating base salary for employment.

When provided a range for a given job offer. 1)Subtract the maximum from the minimum to get the range. range
2) Count the percentage of the job detail bullet points you are proficient in. proficiency rate
3) Ask = min of range + (proficiency rate*range)
Sria was proficient in everything in her job requirement and the range was $300,000 - $400,000. Using the Yarus method she decided to ask for $400,000.

Her employer was so impressed they upped her to 500,000.
