Test Cough

An cough that only arises when in a quiet place or during an important exam when surrounded by other people. You know you're annoying the other people around you but you can't do anything about it.

Person 1: I think I bombed that test.
Person 2: Why do you say that? I thought you studied hard.
Person 1: I did, but I had a case of test cough the entire time. I couldn't stop thinking about how annoying I was to the people around me and that made me cough more.
Person 2: I hate it when that happens.

A fake cough let out when one is told to be completely silent.

Teacher: I'm going to go copy a couple of papers if i hear one sound you're all getting written up.
student 1: *cough* *cough*
student 2: stop with the test coughs I don't wanna be written up

couch test 

A sexual variation on an actor's screen test. This refers to the practice of directors/producers requiring actresses who wish to be in their films to have sex with them, usually on the office couch.

Director (to Producer): I'm not sure she has the chops to get cast in the film, but she sure looks like a candidate for a couch test.
