Talkpot

A form of honeypot designed specifically to get users to say something negative, controversial, or incriminating—a server, community, or group created to encourage extreme speech, then document and weaponize it. A talkpot might present itself as a free-speech zone, a radical politics forum, or a private discussion group. In reality, every word is recorded, every extreme statement saved, every participant a potential target. Users join thinking they're among like-minded people; they leave finding their words public, attached to their names, destroying careers and relationships.
Example: "The 'free thought' server attracted people with unconventional opinions, promising privacy and community. They talked freely, sharing views they'd never express publicly. Then the leaks happened—screenshots of everything, posted publicly, attached to real names. The talkpot had been a trap from the start, designed to harvest extreme speech for exposure. Careers ended; lives were destroyed. The potters moved on to the next server."

Talkpost

A form of goalpost manipulation where the ultimate objective is to get a user to say something that can be used against them. The talkpost is the moving standard of acceptable speech, the shifting boundary that the target is provoked to cross. First, they're encouraged to express a mild opinion. Then a stronger one. Then an extreme one. Each time, the post moves—what's acceptable expands, what's encouraged grows, until the target finally says something that can't be defended. That statement is captured, screenshotted, weaponized. The talkpost has done its work: manufactured the rope with which the target hangs themselves.
Example: "They wanted to expose him as extreme, so they set up a talkpost. First, they asked about his political views. He answered moderately. They pushed: 'But don't you think the other side is worse?' He agreed. They pushed harder: 'Don't you think they're evil?' He hesitated. They pushed hardest: 'Don't you think they should be stopped by any means?' Finally, he said something extreme. Screenshot. Published. Destroyed. The post had moved step by step, and he'd followed it into the trap."
