Synthprog 

Synthprog is a genre of electronic music that takes its influence from progressive rock and the heavy use of synthesizers or other electronic synthesis instruments.

Not to be confused with progressive house, where the use of the word "progressive" in progressive house is the opposite of the use of the word "progressive" in progressive rock.

I listened to some synthprog song by FM, Rush, Kartmaze, CJeff, and adesyndicate.

synthpop

Music that is made mainly with synthesizers. It follows the normal pop structure (Verse Chorus Bridge). Pioneered by bands like Kraftwerk. Uses lots of Ostanatos (short repeated melodies).

Erasure's "I love to Hate you" is a good synthpop song

A synthesized musical symphony. The simulation of many instruments at once by computer. May also refer to a piece of classical style techno. Combination of synth and symphony.
