Stringboard

Some lost person's definition of the Shadow Caper's guitar.

The stringboard came from the screwed up minds of The Shad and the rest of us, his band-mates. We were just making fun of a couple of ditzy female friends. Oddly enough though, Shadow and I were walking around downtown Boise after we had a gig a couple nights before when some girl came up to the Shadow Caper and said something about a stringboard. I assumed that she was looking for the word, guitar. This was the honest to whatever you beleive in truth. I thought this girl was crazy but whatever as long as she liked our show, who cares? Read the example becaause that's how it happned.

Girl: "Hey that concert rocked! You were incredible on the..."
Shadow: "The guitar"
Girl: "The what?"
Shadow: "You know, the guitar. Six strings. A lot of them have a hole in the..."
Girl: "Oh, you mean the STRINGBOARD"

springboard 

As a verb: asking someone a question with the idea that their answer will serve as the necessary conversational opening for you to tell some big story about yourself.

Dwayne: Have you ever been to France?
Shawna: Yes, I went there for two weeks with my family last summer.
Dwayne: I spent three months in France last summer, and man, I really know a lot about French life now. Let me tell you about this cafe I went to in Nice ... Bla bla.
Shawna: Ooh la la, does he know how to springboard!

springboarding 

The act of coming to a pregame or social gathering without bringing anything, just to get the free food/booze before going out to the actual party you were planning on attending.

Oh my god, are your floormates coming to our party? They are totally just springboarding before going out to the frats.

Man, last time that dude came over to our place he drank our beer and went to the city afterwards to go clubbing. What a springboarder.

String-board 

It is, apparently, some lost person's definition of the Shadow Caper's guitar.
The Shadow Caper and I were walking down the street after we had given a show to our hometown. And honest to whatever you believe in, this girl came up to us and said she liked our string-board. Read the example because that's honestly what happened. It was kind of stupid, but funny at the same time

Girl: "Hey! I dug the show you guys put on the other night. It rocked! I thought that you(*shadow caper*) rocked on the...string-board thing"
She could not get the word off her tounge. I'm pretty sure she meant"guitar"

Shadow Caper:"Guitar?"
Girl:"The what?"
Shadow Caper: You know, it has six strings and a lot of them have a hole in them"
Girl: "oh yeah"

Springboard 

When a woman dates a lesser man, in secrecy, when her real agenda is using him to propel herself into greater things and men. The man, who is the victim, is considered the springboard. Often the lady is in college, or trying to lose weight, between jobs, and once this accomplishment is met, she then springs off to greener pastures.

"Dude I can't believe you've been with such a hot chick for over a year now."

Friend : "Man, once she finishes college and hits the gym its over. She is just using you as a springboard to greater success."
