Smugomplain

The type of person who lives a well off and cultured life who then decides to make it seem such a burden upon their lives to those who cannot afford their lifestyle. In doing so they are bragging about what a great life they actually have.

"I've just been travelling around the world and now I can't seem to sit still in one spot anymore. I hate life."

"Really, can you not Smugomplain as I fall back into debt?"

A condescending, patronizing, arrogant, and, above all, SMUG explanation from somebody who understands almost nothing about a subject but is convinced that he knows more about it than anybody on the planet. The smugness comes from the belief that he is both the world's greatest expert on the topic and, despite (mistakenly) feeling superior to the rest of humanity, is capable of explaining it down to their level.
