Schrödinger's Larp

Schrödinger's Larp is faking knowing a certain media by saying that you accidentally misheard, misspoke or excusing yourself (etcetera more scenarios like that) that you forgot that media then proceeding to say the actual answer/name of the media when someone corrects you or informs you.

(Scenario on the bottom is a real thing I witnessed. I was Knower 2.)

Hidden LARPER: "I'm actually the one that divorced Clark from the movie Backrooms."
Knower: "You're not Barbara, silly."
LARPER: "Who the hell is..?"
Knower: "Clark's wife? Ex-wife, I mean."
LARPER: "... Ohhh! I thought you said 'Barabara.'"
Knower 2 (Comes in the scene): ".. Are you pulling a Schrödinger's Larp?"

Schrödinger's larp

Someone who very clearly hasn’t read or watched the material in question, yet unfortunately for them, makes the risky decision call someone who has read it, a larp. Of course, the fact that they are the ones actually larping is now blatantly obvious to everyone who actually has read the material, causing them to out themselves as the actual larp. Regardless of them knowing that the other person knows they’re larping, 99% of the time they’ll double down on the larp accusation, even though both parties know who the actual larp is.

Guy 1: Walter white started cooking meth because he got cancer.

Guy 2: Walt never got cancer holy larp 😭.

Guy 1: What did you achieve by saying this? You realize we both know you’re larping now, right?

Guy 2: You’re the larp here buddy, Walter literally never gets cancer, holy larp.

Guy 1: You’re a Schrödinger's larp, we both know you’re larping so why keep up the act? 😭
