The choir of the U.S.S.R./Russian Federation's armed forces. Founded during the Great Patriotic War, the Red Army Choir exists to this day, still singing loudly and proud under a Soviet banner!

Red Army
The armed forces of the Soviet Union from 1917 to 1991.
Formed at the beginning of the Russian civil war in the middle of the First World War.
The initial Red Army wasn't a professional army, made up of armed citizen and white army deserters.
In the 30's it saw a massive armament efforts and modernizations by getting tanks, anti tank weapons, rifles and artillery improvements over the years.
Though numbers were on their side, usually it lacked in strategy and logistics which was proven many times where the poles and the Baltic states managed to repel the the Red Army in the 20's and the Finnish in the late 30's. (though eventually a Soviet victory)
In 1941 it was pushed to it's limits during the Operation Barbarossa, the German invasion of the Soviet Union.
It lost somewhere in between 7.000.000 to 20.000.000 men.
This was mostly due to encirclements and disastrous counter attacks.
By 1943 the Soviets were on equal footing with the Germans in terms of strength and were planning a major offensive.
It also saw the end of the Battle for Stalingrad, the most deadly battle known to history.
The Red Army was the first to arrive in Berlin 1945 and continued to fight proxy wars during the cold war (1945 - 1991).
It was dissolved in 1991 with the collapse of the Soviet Union and became the Armed Forces of Russian Federation.
(Know that there is also the Chinese Red Army which still is in service to this day as the CCP, Chinese Communist Party, is still in power)

Red Army Purge
The purge of the Red Army was supported by fabricated evidence that German counter-intelligence had introduced through an intermediary, President Beneš of Czechoslovakia. This forged evidence purported to show correspondence between Marshal Tukhachevsky and members of the German high command. However the actual evidence introduced at trial was obtained from forced confessions. The purge of the army removed 3 of 5 marshals, 13 of 15 army generals, 8 of 9 admirals, 50 of 57 army corps generals, 154 out of 186 division generals, 16 of 16 army commissars, and 25 of 28 army corps commissars.

The massive army of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, or USSR for short. Something that struck fear into the free world for forty years. Contrary to what the western propaganda said, the red army was too weak after WWII to take on the rest of Europe. But they still would have owned America in a nuke war.
The red army would have slaughtered the concentrated US population with a few ICBMs, they didn't need as many as the US.

French slang, which translated, means "bull's fashion" but basically equates to "hyper trendy" or overly trendy. Used when a person wishes to express distaste at the latest fashion trend/fad, because it seems that everyone has a certain item of clothing or is wearing it. This term is most frequently heard in Paris but is slowly spreading to other parts of France.

A slang term for GLP-1 medications(like Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, etc.), usually referring to their appetite-killing, weight-loss, or “I forgot to eat” effects rather than the medical details.
Usage:
