A play off the word “parasocial” and “maniac”
A person who is way too loyal, obsessed with a online character/celebrity/ etc, to the point where they will defend them no matter what happens, if it were a rape allegation, they would call the victim a liar when it wasn’t even proved to be fake yet. If it were a video feed of the online character beating a newborn, it would be “oh just a episode”.
You can see where this is going.

A fan of an online personality, usually a twitch streamer, who tends to send expensive gifts or large donations to the streamer as a result of an irregular parasocial relationship with the streamer

A buzz word being used to refer to creators and influencers forming or encouraging unhealthy relationships with their fans. Usually used in the context of young audiences feeling they have a relationship with the influencer due to the huge amount of the influencer’s content they consume. The influencer in question, however, is unaware of the fan’s existence other than the general knowledge of having fans. Common examples include Dream and his stans. These relationships are exacerbated by the influencers confirming they have more than a creator-to-viewer relationship.
The word is circulating due to various YouTube essays about the phenomenon using the word, and therefore people who enjoy complaining about influencers repeating what they heard in the video in any comments section they can find.

A mix between the word parasocial and socialite, parasocialites are people who activley partake in a one sided relationship to someone who does not acknowledge their existance and ENJOYS doing it. They truly believe they have a mutual bond, usually with a celebrity or online personality.

Surf Dracula Syndrome
A phenomenon in film/television series, most notably streaming series, where the main premise is drawn out to such a point that it takes an entire season or more to get the parts of the series the audience is actually interested in seeing.
For example, if a series is titled "Surf Dracula," a majority of viewers would tune in expecting to see Dracula surfing by the first or second episode. However, the entire first season would instead be tedious padding and backstory before finally ending with Dracula surfing in the last five minutes of the season finale.
