Old Democrat
A person member of the US democratic party who holds conservative views and is considered disconnected from the current state of the party and there constituents.
These people, who are mostly over 65, tend to hold neo-libral views and support policies like lowering taxes, the regulating corporations, Defunding social programs and increased military spending. Some are republicans who have migrated to the other side after the election of donald trump, and some are lifetime democrats who would be indistinguishable from Republicans 20 years ago. Old democrats tend to be obsessed with the idea of “bi-partisanship” and will often sacrifice popular support for the sake of not appearing “Polarizing”.
Prominent old Democrats include, joe biden, Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, Elizabeth Warren, and Nancy Pelosi.
