Nyanko

A Japanese slang term roughly equivalent to "kitty" or "kittycat" in English. Derived from "nyaa" (にゃあ) or "nyan" (にゃん), the Japanese onomatopoeia for the sound that cats make, and "ko" (子) or child, which is a commonly used suffix in names for girls and pet animals.
