Mother-in-law-ish

A woman who spent most of her life working harder than she wanted to, running purely on responsibility, survival instincts, and the deeply rooted belief that if she didn’t handle it herself, it probably wasn’t getting done right. She sacrificed, adapted, and survived years of exhaustion, worry, slammed doors, mysterious smells, emotional damage, and nonstop “what the actual hell now?” moments just to raise your significant other into a semi-functional adult.

Unfortunately, adulthood did not stop the chaos.

Now trapped in a permanent cycle of concern, disappointment, secondhand embarrassment, and reluctant emotional support, she continues watching her fully grown offspring make decisions that physically force her to close her eyes and pinch the bridge of her nose. Somehow, she still shows up anyway.

She will absolutely judge your life choices, your spending habits, your parenting methods, and probably the way you loaded the dishwasher — but she’ll also bring food, help clean up the disaster, and stand beside you while muttering “I fucking told you so” under her breath.

Her love is unconditional.
Her patience, however, has been dead since 2007.

His mom looked at our life choices, sighed like a Vietnam veteran reliving battle memories, handed us a casserole dish, and helped anyway. Total mother-in-law-ish behavior.
