Tom was assigned the duty desk today, but was modisetted for the remainder of the shift. Someone was modisetting Tom.

Modisetting Defined; the art of being absent for undesired duties, though appearing as if you fulfilled those duties while your colleagues complete those undesirable tasks.

Tom had to work the duty desk because he was being modisetted by a fellow employee who failed to show up. Modisetting is common in his workplace.
