Marilyn's Law

Any discussion regarding portrayals of female beauty in the media, especially in regards to weight and shape, will devolve into a discussion of Marilyn Monroe's dress size (what it was, whether it was a constant, what it would be in today's dress sizes, whether she presented a more realistic beauty ideal, etc.)
A: I can't believe how skinny models have gotten!
B: I know! I wish we lived back in the 1960s when people liked a woman with real curves.
A: Did you know Marilyn Monroe wore a size 12?
B: Can't we have a discussion about this without invoking Marilyn's Law? You know she had to diet and exercise and get plastic surgery, right? It's not like there were no unachievable standards of beauty for women and all was well with the world back then, either.

Marilyn Monroe Syndrome

A condition that delusional fat women suffer from, whereby they cite that Marilyn Monroe was a size 16, proving that beauty standards have changed, and therefore fat is beautiful. Unbeknownst to them is that the sizes of clothing in Monroe's time were measured differently and a size 16 in the 1950s was roughly equivalent to a size 8. In reality, Monroe weighed about 120 pounds.

fache-couture

French slang, which translated, means "bull's fashion" but basically equates to "hyper trendy" or overly trendy. Used when a person wishes to express distaste at the latest fashion trend/fad, because it seems that everyone has a certain item of clothing or is wearing it. This term is most frequently heard in Paris but is slowly spreading to other parts of France.

A slang term for GLP-1 medications(like Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, etc.), usually referring to their appetite-killing, weight-loss, or “I forgot to eat” effects rather than the medical details.

Usage:
* Often casual, ironic, or meme-y
* Can imply effortless weight loss, suppressed hunger, or being “powered by pharmaceuticals”

Notes:
Not a brand name—just shorthand for the whole GLP-1 wave. Frequently shows up in online jokes, gym talk, and group chats where people pretend they’re *totally* doing it naturally.
“I’m not dieting, I’m just on that glippy.”
