Maoist Pool Party

An incongruous social gathering in which participants profess radical leftist or explicitly Maoist political views while engaging in the leisure activity of a pool party; used ironically to highlight the perceived contrast between revolutionary rhetoric and bourgeois recreation.

A tongue in cheek reference to Mao Zedong’s historical association with swimming (including staged river swims and meetings conducted in or around swimming pools), applied satirically to modern left-wing social events.
