Jamati

A pejorative term used in Bangladeshi political discourse for someone who aligns with the ideology of the extremist party Jamaat-e-Islami.
Usually characterized online and in real life by their opposition to secular democracy, disdain for the 1971 Liberation War history, and deeply patriarchal or misogynistic views. They actively target religious and ethnic minorities with hatred, intimidation, and threats of forced conversion to establish a homogeneous Islamist state.

Jamati: "Sister, fear Allah. Where is your hijab? Why are you out in public dressed like this, ruining our society?"
Girl: "And where is your brain? Mind your own business and stop acting like a typical Jamati."
