I bought some pants from a surfwear brand called Anthem Int'l.

This is an int'l english short for international.

There is a local Anthem branch, and an int'l one.

An abbreviation of 'international' for shorthand written language, as in crossword puzzles. For English learners, international means across nations.

International and global are sometimes misunderstood. Global is for a unitary world, whilst international can mean differences with borders.

Intl, like the global corporations Royal Dutch Shell, Toyota Motor or Yum Brands. Intl, like the widely spoken languages Persian (official in three nations), Guarani (official in two) or Hindustani (official in two).
