An unusally large aperatus for the project at hand. Generally used in the medical and/or scientific fields, though not always. Refers to the famous space telescope that allows Earth scientists to see the farthest reaches of this galaxy and others.

What is the Hubble Space Telescope? Well, I looked it up on Wikipedia and it gives you an overview of Hubble’s life. They say “Hubble was launched in 1990” and “it can take extremely high resolution images.” Huh. They didn’t let me edit the Wikipedia page, so here we are. Let me tell you, Hubble is so much more than anything that some researcher can write on a page. Let’s start with the basics: it’s a very big peepee in space. British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”
