The Hoover Criminal Gang's were once Crips, the word "Hoover" comes from a blvd of the same name that runs through certain areas in South Central Los Angeles. The Hoover Criminals came out of the Gangster Crip sets, but around 1979, the Gangster Crip sets began feuding with the Neighborhood Crip sets.... These rivalries are perhaps the oldest of Crip on Crip feuds that has lead to hundreds of these gangs to kill eachother since the feud began in 1979. This feud mainly consists between the Rollin 60's who are part of the Neighborhood Crip sets and the Eight Tray Hoover's. Around 1995 the Hoover Gangs decided to be a gang on its own because of their deadly feuds with many Crip sets. The Hoovers decided to keep the letter "C" but changed its meaning from "Crip" to "Criminal".
The Eight Tray Hoovers (ETG, 83 Hoover) hold the biggest gang turf in South Central, its gang turf is about five miles long. Other Hoover Gangs are the 74 Hoover (Seven Foe), Bay Bayz, Raskals, Everyday Hoover (ED Hoover), Hoover Crime Gang and others.
The Hoovers are so big that many other Hoover gangs do not know that they are no longer Crips in some parts of the world. The word Hoover has also been known to be spelled "Hoova", some Hoover sets in parts of the country say "Hoova Crip".... The Hoover Gangs are still considered to be part of the Gangster Crip sets, but they now feud with Crips, Bloods, Sur13. The Hoovers only unite with Piru sets in Prisons (they do this because the Piru sets are now a gang on its own as well and are no longer considered Blood gangs).... The Hoover gangs still keep close ties with the Hoover Crips that decided not to change to Hoover Criminals in 1995. The Hoover gangs also are on good terms with a few Crip sets in some areas of the World. What makes the Hoover gangs unique is that it also has Blood sets as well that are conisdered to be part of the Hoover Family.

They also use a five pointed star or the star of david because they also unite with the Gangster Disiples of Chicago....

Get the Hoover Criminal Gangmug. Also known as 716 Gang, HCG is arguably the most hated gang in the city, as they're known for having beef with both Blood, Crip & Mexican gangs. The Hoovers have had presence on the west side of South Los Angeles since the early 1970s (then known as the Hoover Groovers). And are known for being heavily involved in both drug trafficking and pimping/prostitution along Figueroa Street which runs through the heart of their hood. HCG was formerly part of the Gangster Crip/3X before splitting from GC during the 1980s due to early feuds with 87GC and 97GC. During this time HCG was also became prolific due to being heavily involved in drug trafficking during the CIA-funded crack epidemic amidst the 1980s. For this reason they still use the "movin" arm motion gang sign that GC/3X sets use. They would eventually adopt the color orange and start referring to themselves as Hoover Criminal Gang (only 52HGC remained GC). Though their main rivals by far have always been the NHC and BC cards, as their beef with the Rollin' 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, 90's, and 100's especially is one of the deadliest in the city and dates back to the early 1970s. Other feuds with the FHN, DLGB, MSMC, ECC, and 120RAC have also accounted for many deaths on both sides. Their culture of beefing with almost every has led to them adopting the popular phrase "EBK" aka "Everybody Killer" due to the fact that they have so few allies (BPS, IFGB, 51TGC, WS73GC, 83GC, GSWC, and a few other GC/3X sets being the only ones).

Known for their long-standing war with the Rollin’ 100s and other Crip sets, that beef made the area nicknamed “Death Alley” by the L.A. Times ’cause of how deep the violence runs. They beef with most Blocc and Neighborhood Crips but rock with other Hoover sets like 112HCG.
These days, the 107 Hoovers got expansion sets and affiliates in cities across the U.S., from Texas to the Midwest—spreading that orange flag far past L.A. County.
