A new rifle developed by Heckler and Koch, a German arms manufacturer. The concept was updating the M16/M6 series by incorporating a new gas piston system instead of the typical M16/M4 mechanisim. The new weapon is ultra reliable and is already in use by the US Special Operations community including Delta Force as well as the Norweigan Armed Forces. It fires the NATO standard 5.56x45mm round and has a standard magazine capacity of 30 rounds. It is available with barrel lengths of 10.5in,14.5in,16in,and 20in. It is also available in a variation called the HK417 which is basically a scaled up HK416 chambered for the heavier 7.62x51mm round.

The German company Heckler & Koch is now producing a morphed version of the G36 & M4 which is a 5.56x45 Nato rifle round. A revolutionary new gas and bolt assembly now makes this wepon even more reliable. Most notably, it stays clean longer. It requires less servicing than past rifles and you can pull the bolt out right after firing half a dozen clips to find it cool to the touch. While nothing highly technical like the OICW it is viewed to be a step up from the M16 and G36 variants. It is possibly that the U.S. military might adopt this new weapon in the next 5 years to replace our aging arsonal of M16A2's.
Damn that HK416 really can lay down the fire. I want one...

city chicken

A food native to Pittsburgh/Western Pennsylvania in which cubes of pork and/or veal are put on a short, wooden skewer, breaded, then baked and/or fried.

I've heard that city chicken originated during the Great Depression, when folks didn't have enough money to buy full cuts of meat, so they assembled meat scraps on a wooden skewer, creating a make-shift drumstick. Hence the name.

endwarfins

The rush of neurotransmitters and neuropeptides triggered specifically by watching the Seven Dwarfs march home singing "Heigh-Ho" — that particular high of pickaxes, whistling while you work, and communal domestic bliss in a cottage built for men half your height.
I only meant to watch the Heigh-Ho scene for the endwarfins, and then it was two hours later and I'd watched the whole movie.

Endwarfins aren't just a Snow White thing — I get the same hit off the Lollipop Guild in Oz.
