Germanying

The act of a nation launching a massive military invasion while severely underestimating their enemy, arrogantly expecting an impossibly fast victory, and failing to prepare their economy or supply lines for a long conflict. Usually results in a brutal stalemate, severe equipment shortages, and eventual historical humiliation.

Examples are the 1914 schlieffen plan, operation Barbarossa, the invasion of Ukraine 2022
