Franken-teching
The act of taking obsolete, broken, or incompatible hardware and forcing it to perform a modern task it was never designed for. Often involves excessive use of Linux, custom firmware, and a complete disregard for manufacturer limitations. It is rarely the most efficient way to solve a problem, but it is always the most satisfying.
