adj. • pronounced FIG-moe • Acronym for: Fuck You, I've Got My Orders. In military culture, when an individual is being transferred or his/her tour of duty is close to completion, a person may demonstrate some level of apathy and/or defiance, since their behavior is less likely to bring consequences.

"Man, you're gonna get yourself busted down to private with that FYIGMO attitude."

"She's so short (tour of duty almost over) she's completely FYIGMO."

Standard Military slang, "Fuck it, got my orders". usually used when you're short on any assignment, or End of Service, (Discharge). Most often, when you get a shit detail, or flak from a Supervisor.

Boss- "Get yer ass out there and police the parade grounds!"

FYGMO

Acronym: "Fuck You, Got My Orders"; more pointed and personal variant of FIGMO (nothing matters; short-timer; under 90 days prior to reporting for next assignment). Found widespread use during the Viet Nam "conflict"; representative of the changed generational attitudes between WWII and post-Korean "conflict". Used especially toward authority figures; illustrative of the military's reliance on orders considered unchangeable once committed to paper and signed by even higher authority. The attitude arose from the conviction by dogfaces that they could commit murder while FYGMO and the court martial wouldn't take place until they reached their next assignment.

Straighten your uniform, uncover in the house and get a haircut, ya sad sack!" "I'm FYGMO, Looie; I'll see YOU back in the world."
