FNAF Syndrome
n. A subset of apophenia in which a person or group obsessively analyzes a media franchise - especially one with lingering mysteries or an ongoing storyline - drawing wildly stretched conclusions even when answers are clearly provided or clearly forthcoming, a behavior often rooted in a childhood heavily shaped by the ongoing indie horror video game series, Five Nights at Freddy’s.
After the trailer dropped, the community was hit with a major case of FNAF Syndrome and began analyzing it frame-by-frame.
