Flappies
Flappies is what a young bat does prior to being able to fly. It hangs on to something stationary like a tree branch with its feet, while flapping its wings vigorously, mimicking flight, in order to exercise and strengthen the muscles that will soon be required when it starts to fly. Older adult bats in captivity past the age of flight also engage in this activity.

A derogatory term for an insurgent fighter who trended to be black. Originated with Rhodesian military personnel in Rhodesia (currently Zimbabwe) during the Rhodesian Bush War. The term arises from how insurgents would flop down dead when shot.
