That thing where you’ve already left the house but suddenly start wondering if you unplugged something, locked the door, turned something off, etc. You know you checked, but your brain refuses to accept it, so you go back and check again.
“I was halfway to work when I got stuck in The Exit Loop. I knew I’d unplugged my charger, but I had to turn around and check.”

“Bro, The Exit Loop got me last night. I went back twice to make sure I locked the door.”

Words you can keep
The moment you’ve already left the house and suddenly start wondering if you actually unplugged something, locked the door, turned off the stove, etc. You know you checked. You just don’t trust your own memory anymore.
“I was already halfway to work when theExit Loop started. I knew I unplugged my hair straightener, but somehow I was back home checking it.”
“Did you lock the door?”
Yeah.”
“You sure?”
“…The Exit Loop is kicking in.”

The Exit Loop

An urban ritual that makes a house dweller obsess over the question if something that shouldn’t have been left plugged in... is plugged in. Leads to repeated checks, even if the first confirmed it was not the case.
“Bro, The Exit Loop kicked in halfway to work and suddenly I couldn’t remember if I’d unplugged my charger.”
Man, last night before the party, The Exit Loop hit me hard and I went back twice to make sure I locked the door.”

Purple Patch

To describe coming into something good, coming into good luck and or good times.

Like walking over small green hills in the countryside then coming across a purple patch of flowers, thus it being unique and out of the ordinary.
I hit a real purple patch.

The other day this good thing happened unexpectedly then I was lucky with this, it was unique, I hit a real purple patch.
